This is the cute dress that I bought to wear to the few showers I have coming up that are for two bridal showers and two baby showers. This is not a picture of me, just the model for the dress! I need some motivation these days to be perky at a baby shower so I thought that a new dress and a pair of shoes should do the trick. Anyways...the shoes on my previous post were bought to go with this dress I got a couple of weeks ago. Gosh do I love to shop!
So according to my RE's office, Friday is officially day one of our IVF cycle. I get to have some lab work drawn and have yet another date with the dildo cam aka transvag ultrasound..gee I wonder if the dildo cam will bring me flowers or take me out to dinner since it's a Friday and all...then again I hope not since it would probably expect me to put out then since we've had several "dates" over the last few months. :-) I'll continue my nightly Lupron shots for now. But I officially ended my birth control pills earlier this week on Tues...YAY!
Tomorrow is officially day one of my four day weekend as well. That deserves an even bigger YAY! Yesterday night was exceptionally busy at work. I was up in OB, we did eight epidurals and two C-sections. I got home, crashed in bed and fell asleep around 1:00 AM. Then my alarm clock rudely woke me up at 5:00 because I was in the open heart room today which is an early start. By the time I got to work they were already in the process of doing an emergent heart that had gotten transferred in to our hospital on a balloon pump and was in heart failure and pulmonary edema. I took over the case for that CRNA, and then started another valve replacement case around lunch time that had gotten postponed due to the two emergencies. I ended up staying over..but I'm so glad to be home! The open heart room is a double edged sword...exciting but exhausting all at the same time. The cardiothoracic surgeons can be high maintenance at times..but we have a pretty cool group at our hospital. Some days I just pray that I'm in the room with the hernia repairs, appendectomies and gall bladders. Excitement is not my middle name these days!
So I plan on watching L.OST tonight, then crashing and sleeping in a little bit until 8 or so when I have to get up and go for my ultrasound/ lab work. I would love to get a walk in outside if possible before too late in the day. I guess we're supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow between Friday and Saturday. What the heck is up with that? They said that MI is like two feet ahead in snowfall already for this year and now this. Doesn't mother nature realize it's March? Oh well. Wishful thinking. Worst case senario: it starts snowing, if I get motivated I could always do an hour of mall walking with the older folks at our mall. Exercise is exercise I guess.
Anyways, I have about a million emotions in my head right now in regards to this whole IVF experience...hopefully I'll be able to put them into a blog that makes sense for tomorrow. And hopefully the snow decides to take a vacation and go south to Ohio!

Cute dress! Best wishes at your ultrasound tomorrow, hoping for lots of follicles! Enjoy your long weekend!
Hooray for Day 1! And props on the dress. Definitely you should have a new dress and shoes for going to a baby shower.
Yay! So exciting to be officially at CD1 of your IVF cycle! I am so excited for you! I can't wait to watch through the whole thing. I have super high hopes for you!
By the way, I loved your SATC reference in the title of your last post. I LOVE that show. Can't wait for the movie!
Your job sounds like a lot of work but so exciting. I can't wait!
By the way, thanks for your comments on my blog. Yeah, I have always been strong in my faith, but not exactly good about leaning on God instead of my own plan. It does not happen overnight, that's for sure! But thanks for the encouragement. I hope you find the faith/support you need as you go through this cycle which will be stressful at times I'm sure!
Congrats on starting your cycle! I'll be checking in to see how it is going! Good Luck!!
Hi, Sara! Thanks for visiting my blog. It sounds like you have a very exciting life as a gass passer! ;) I'll be checking in on you from now on and hope your IVF process goes smoothly.
Oh I looove that dress! I bet it looks fantastic on you!
Best of luck to you as you start down the IVF path!
That is one hot dress to go with those fabulous shoes. (drooling)
You go, girl!
Can't wait to hear how the "encounter" with the sonogram goes. That bastard is notorious for only bringing me bad news-I am certain you will have better luck.
*hugs*

Grats on CD1! I hope it's the beginning of wonderful things for you!!!
As far as the snow heading south...I don't know if you sent us all of your bad weather, but we sure got a load of rain today!!! Holy cow!!!
Hope your date didn't get too fresh with you this morning. ;-)
You are going to look fabulous in that dress!! I hear you on being tired. Those are long days. My mom tells me about her cases and they make me tired! I wish you all the best in your upcoming IVF!!
