Pre-pregnancy nesting?

Now that I'm off of my three day experience with modified bed rest (gosh I don't know how women on extended bed rest maintain their sanity!) I've entered into some strange frenzy of cleaning. I'm not doing anything strenuous, not lifting anything too heavy out of the fear of somehow disrupting the little embryos I'm so hoping are somehow setting up home in my uterus. Yet I've reorganized cupboards, cleaned closets, thrown away anything expired in my pantry, cleaned my refrigerator from top to bottom, and even reorganized my doggie's toys - and she has a lot of them! I just started thinking that if this IVF thing actually works by some miracle then I'll have a lot of work to do to get a house ready for a baby. I guess if it doesn't then at least I'll enjoy a reorganized house!

So I guess would you call this pre-pregnancy nesting? Maybe I could come up with some new type of phenomenon. Either way my husband just looked at me like I was nuts yesterday when I was amidst gutting out our pantry scavenging for expiration dates on everything from cans of green beans to spaghetti sauce. By the way..did you know how many companies don't put expiration dates on things - or make them very difficult to find? It's enough to drive a girl crazy, especially a girl hopped up on hormones awaiting IVF results!

In a way I'm glad to be going back to work tomorrow. I think a change of scenery will do me good. My manager won't let me do anything too strenuous like push any of our 500lb plus patients on carts into or out of the OR, so it'll be a strange weird week of work ahead with some modified activities. I work the next four days and then have to do my A.CLS recert on Sunday so at least I'll have some stuff to keep me busy until next week when I find out the grand results. They don't have me coming in for my beta until Friday April 4th. I'm not sure if I'll hold off not taking any home tests until then..but that's my goal. We'll see how well I do. Well I'm off to clean some more closets for Good W.ill stuff. Thanks for the kind words on the previous post!

I love cleaning the house and getting it all organized! Last night, I cleaned out the downstairs closet and the cabinet under the sink in the bathroom. It was so satisfying.

I love getting organized, too. Laying in bed all day sounds good when I'm at work (ha!), but I know I would get extremely restless. I'm excited for you and am hoping for good results next week!

I think I will send you a key to my house - come whenever you feel inspired to clean and organize.. I could use you for company and motivation!

Ha! I'm in the midst of getting my goodwill bag o' clothing together as well. Hope you are truly "nesting" and thanks for the well wishes on my blog as well.

Nothing like nesting! I hope it's a great sign.

Wouldn't it be great if it's a sign of more to come! I hope April 4th comes quickly for you.

I work from home, so post-ER bedrest felt more like house arrest! Hang in there and stay away from the cabinets, photo boxes, etc.. : )

we had to "nest" to get the house ready for Easter. Crazy, But you are right....cleaning for the sake of cleaning and feeling organized is a good way to keep occupied.
and since i know you live close enough to me...nest your way on over here, babe!

Come clean my house. You know you want to. I have unpacked boxes from where we moved here 3yrs ago.

I did the same kind of nesting last cycle. I say test at home 2 days before the beta. I can never hold out until the beta. I have to know before so I'm not too disappointed if it's negative. That's just me...

I took HPTs with every cycle. 2 days and the day before should be pretty accurate. The trigger is out of your systemt by then for sure. I just like to be prepared. Of course last cycle I got 3 positive HPTs and then my beta didn't go up, but the HPT was still accurate. I am praying for you.
