This Labor Day holiday weekend has been fairly quiet and I am so ever grateful. Tomorrow is officially 26 weeks for us, and one week closer to less issues if our little girl were to decide to come early. I find I'm a bit anxious now that I'm back at home since our last hospital stay. Anxious since I know we may be treading on borrowed time. The procardia has made the contractions tolerable. Even though I do have a lot less contractions on this higher dose of procardia - they are still strong enough that I wake up several times throughout the night. Sometimes they feel pretty strong or uncomfortable - but usually after about 15 minutes to a half hour they will die down enough that I can fall back asleep. Usually I can sneak about 2 hours or so before I'll get woken up again by them. I figure if I can catch a couple hours of sleep here and there - I'm doing okay. I've been told by a few people that the getting woken up every couple of hours is good practice for when Spot gets here - usually I just try to smile and nod....but I don't think they realize that I'm just trying to get through this moment - and have trouble thinking that far ahead some days, LOL!
I also took a cue from my fellow partner in crime Meredith to try to avert some of the head rushing, headache, hot flash, dizziness that the procardia brings. She suggested trying to sleep with a cold wet wash cloth on my head - that definitely helps, so thanks Meredith! Also, trying to take it with food has helped some of the pounding headache that goes with it sometimes. For whatever reason I find I get the worst headache from my earliest morning dose. But enough complaining - I don't want to give anyone reading this a headache as well, LOL! If you do have a moment - go say hi to Meredith and give her good thoughts. She's going into her third week of being in the hospital and has been battling preterm labor like a pro.
My parents stopped by today and brought some food over. Nothing like some home cooked comfort food from mom and dad to make a girl feel good. And my mom also brought over two big bags of things for the baby - clothes, receiving blankets, and other goodies. Maybe if I have a moment I'll take some pictures of my favorite couple of outfits. I just sit and look at them sometimes when I'm having a down moment - just to remind me of what's the prize at the end. Our dresser for the nursery finally arrived as well, and my husband is going to assemble that tomorrow. Most of the weekend I spent trying to watch some light hearted movies to take my mind off of things. I liked What Happens in Vegas with Cameron Diaz, and we also watched 21 about the MIT students and counting cards. Later tonight I might catch The Other Boylen Girl if I can't fall asleep. Of course, I've been faithfully following Big Brother as well.
I've been the world's worst blogger and commenter lately - but the dizziness makes reading some on the computer hard sometimes. Not that I'm making excuses - but know I still am trying to check in when I can to see how everyone is doing. I think of everyone often and truly hope that things are going well for everyone! ( Shhhh - it's not official....but I think we might have a front runner for names for little girl Spot as well. We kind of like Brynn Cecilia. But we're still tossing a few around.)

Like the name! So so glad you've made it this far! Stay in Spot!
Love the name. Congrats on 26 weeks. I think of you every Monday and celebrate crossing off another month with you!
Hooray for 26 weeks!
What a stupid thing to tell you! Why in the world would you need to practice getting woken up every couple of hours?
Forget about the rest of us for a while! Just rest and relax and keep Spot happy in there. We don't mind and you can always comment later. :)
Every time I read I'm just glad you're still pregnant. I'm crossing my fingers on your behalf, even though it makes it hard to type.

I love the name, Brynn, for what it's worth. :)
I've seen all three of those movies and enjoyed them all.
Keep taking good care...
Dude, you're allowed to not blog or comment, my friend. Seriously. People who care about that so much can talk to ME.
Anyway, glad that you're hanging in there as best you can.
*hugs*
26 weeks! YEAH! Please take good care and I hope you get lots of rest and the contractions settle the Heck down. Your parents sound wonderful and can't wait to see all your cute stuff. I so wish this was easier pregnancy for you (LGS seems to be handling perfectly) and I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Love the name choice and sure whatever you choose will be wonderful. ((Hugs))
Just glad you are still pregnant! Hang in there! I know you can do it.
And the name is lovely. :)
I am glad to hear that you are still home and things are quietish. All good news as the days go on. You will get through today, tomorrow and the next day and all will be ok. Just remember, you've made it past the first miletone of 24 weeks, and getting so close to the 28 wk mark.
I know how you feel about not looking too far ahead, and although you are getting rest now, you won't miss it when spot is here. Ok, maybe a little bit, but not really. :) Hang in there Sara, we're all praying for you and your quiet weeks.
Happy 26 weeks!!!!!! keep growing little spot!!!!!!!!!!

26 weeks! Glad things have quieted down a bit for the holiday weekend.
YAY for 26 weeks! You are getting so close to that magical 28 weeks.
I watched both of those movies and that 21 movie was crazy. I thought to myself that I got into the wrong career. LOL!
P.S. I like the name Brynn.
Love the name! So beautiful and graceful sounding. YAY for a quite weekend! Hang in there *ALL of you*. Can't wait to see a few of those outfits. Hope your headaches stay at bay.

I'm sorry you are dealing with so much dizziness! I can def understand not wanting to read like that! I love, love, love the name. It's beautiful!
Hi, I just found your blog. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I was recently diagnosed with a unicornuate uterus myself. Thanks for the helpful things and information on your blog!
heres to hoping you deliver as late as possible and I deliver a tiny bit early?? maybe the same time? the name is beautiful!!! thinking of you and grateful for the smiles you bring to me without even knowing...
First I want to apologize for being an absent commenter the last weeks or so. You have been through so much and yet you still have such a positive outlook. I think about you and what you are going through a lot, especially when I start complaining about the GD or having to give myself shots every night, it puts it all into prospective and makes me feel guilty for even complaining. Keep taking good care of yourself and little Spot and I promise I will be around more often. ((hugs))
Great name! I'm so glad to hear that it was a quiet weekend. Congrats on 26 weeks - go you!
glad to hear you're still hanging in there!! keep up the good work sara!!
Yay for almost 26 weeks!! Great job mamma. =) Don't worry about being a bad blogger/commenter...your job right now is to be an incubator for as long as possible.
Sorry to hear that your meds are making you feel so yucky. I hate dizziness and head issues.
Love the baby name.
I'm so happy that I get to post the same thing each week. Keep up the good work and hang in there. I'm so happy Spot is staying put!
Congrats on arriving at 26 weeks!
I LOVE Brynn! I hope we'll get to see some new nursery pics soon!
If I had half a brain I'd count cards and get busy in Vegas. :)
I'm so glad you're hanging in there, even if the Procardia is tough to deal with!
Happy 26!
Cute name, I haven't heard of Brynn for a girl before, what are the origins?
I agree with Jen - it's not like getting woken up frequently is a skill requiring practice.
Yes, don't worry about how many comments you leave. Take care of yourself and the baby. Every day the baby is inside you will make things better for her on the outside. I don't think I could make the comment about waking every two hours now going to prepare you for after. It's way too early to want to be prepared. I hope you can get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible.
I am glad that things are "quiet" for now. Every day with spot in utero is a VERY important day. You are doing beautifully.
I love the name Brynn! It's on our list for a middle name option. ;) Beautiful!
*hugs*
What a beautiful name!!!! I love it!
Yeah, you take good care of yourself now. Don't worry, we understand.
(((((hugs)))))
