Thanks for all of your kind words lately...and a happy April Fool's Day! Yesterday work was a pretty good day. I spent the majority of the day doing laparoscopic gallbladders or an appendix. I think we took out pretty much everyone's gallbladder or appendix in southeast MI who needed it removed. I don't think I've done that many lap choleys or lap appys in one day! But to my relief, those are really nice cases, take around an hour, and aren't very stressful. I even got home around 11pm and my husband was still up so I got to say goodnight to him before we both drifted off to sleep. Tonight I think I'll catch up on How I M.et your Mother and Big B.ang Theory that I recorded on DVR last night..plus Big Bro.ther is on. So all in all a pretty good TV night too! My husband loves Big B.ang Theory since it's a comedy about science nerds...gee maybe because we can relate?
Still no signs on the pregnancy front. I'm sure I'll test maybe tomorrow or Thursday before my beta on Friday. However I was wondering...does anyone know of someone who has gotten a negative on a home pregnancy test post IVF and then gotten a positive by lab draw beta? In other words..if I test on Wed or Thurs and it's negative...is there any hope that I could still get a positive lab draw on Friday? I figure if I hear of a story of someone who did this...it'll give me hope if I see a big old negative on the pee stick in the next couple of days. That's why I've held off testing...I don't want to be disappointed anymore than the way I'm already feeling. Oh the wonderful world of IVF...what a crazy ride. I don't remember signing up for this. I guess that this is one of those lovely journeys that we don't get to choose, but rather chooses us. I'm just not sure why this pesky IVF journey choose me, doesn't it know I'm a wimp? Surely it could have picked a little stronger candidate to finish out this path.

I don't have much help in your way of pregnancy testing questions, but I am praying for you right now. I know it is damn near impossible, but if I were you I'd do my darndest to just wait for the beta. I don't trust pee sticks farther than I can throw them (and believe me, it is not far but it is often). ;)

About your question - It could depend on your test. If your pee stick tests for a high amount of hcg then It could be possible. Anything is possible.
I tested negative this cycle and then tested positive two days later. And the home sticks even say that only 87% (or something) of people who are actually pregnant even get a positive on day 14. So, yes, there is absolutely a chance that could happen.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. At least we have some Big Brother to keep our minds occupied!

Some women never get a +ve hpt. I got a seriously faint one at 7dp6dt (FET), and they didn't get any darker for another week or so. I think it depends on how "good" your body is at excreting HCG into your urine.
Nothing means anything.
It seems possible to me that the hcg level could be a tad lower than what the urine test can detect = a false negative result. However, if you can, try to wait for the blood test as a beta hcg is really the only way to know for sure. But then again I'd probably test early because I can't stand to wait for anything!
And if you made it through nursing school ... and CRNA school ... you are very tough in my book ;-)

In generally HPT news, my best friend got a negative pee test and almost took provera when the doctor decided to do a blood test. She was over 6 weeks pregnant and still getting -HPT's. Crazy, but possible!

hey there - keep us posted if you decide to test! How are you hanging in? I'm doing alright, but having the same sort of doubts. Trying to remain positive, but it's hard when I'm so used to disappointment, ya know? Fingers crossed for ya!

Yes!! I have heard of it happening to several ladies on the FF board. Even me, I took a test that said that it would detect pregnancy in 57% of women as of the date I took it; BFN. The next day I got the faaaaaintist positive. Then when I got my beta it was 108! I do not believe that those tests are as accurate as they claim to be.
I agree with the others- I think it's possible for sure. I'm REEEALLY hoping and hoping that you get good news. No matter what, we're here and ready to listen.
Sara-if there is anything further from the definition of a wimp, it is you. You rock hardcore, and I love ya for it.
As for pregnancy tests, I'd honestly wait for the beta test. That is how I found put I was pregnant. I was too nervous to try a pee test on my own.

But I completely understand if you wanted to wait until your beta. At least then you'd be a lot more confident in the results. Good for you for holding out as long as you have. That in and of itself shows just how strong you are!! Good luck!
